Closing your eyes isn't going to change anything. Nothing's going to disappear just because you can't see what's going on. In fact, things will even be worse the next time you open your eyes. That's the kind of world we live in.
it’s interesting that cain would make such a pointed remark to dean about castiel, about killing castiel. because when you break it down, cain doesn’t know dean all that well. (aside from the parallels between their stories.) the last time cain and dean met, dean talked about sam, about never giving up on family. and cain uses that, too. but now, cain’s met castiel. and at the barest mention of a threat to dean, castiel dropped his blade and raised his chin, stood in front of the father of murder ready to fight, to die. you’ll go through me first. i don’t think that cain was necessarily reading dean, in their scene together in the barn. i think cain already got everything he needed to know to use against dean, out in the woods. from the angel who pulled him out of hell, and would again, and again and again. cain may not know dean very well, but he does know what it’s like to be loved wholly, with all his sins and flaws. so cain knows exactly what it feels like, to twist that particular knife, to lose that kind of love forever.
