Closing your eyes isn't going to change anything. Nothing's going to disappear just because you can't see what's going on. In fact, things will even be worse the next time you open your eyes. That's the kind of world we live in.
Sam was being a total bitch towards Crowley
I understand not trusting
but Sam was straight up done with him, wanting him dead
And Dean was just like, meh. Dean doesn’t really seem to trust him, but it seems like Dean just doesn’t see a reason to kill Crowley either.
You know what else. They want to get rid of Abaddon, but if they kill Crowley who the fuck does Sam think is gonna take the throne. Probably someone just as bad and angry as Abaddon, not wanting “rules” like Crowley has.
Crowley is a salesman, not a fucking warrior. (though i think if he wanted, he probably could overrun earth)
Crowley may be sniveling and backstabbing but i don’t see him openly trying to overrun earth and destroy humans.
SO WOULD YOU RATHER HAVE FUCKING CROWLEY OR ABADDON TO RUN HELL SAM.
I just, I don’t get it. He may not trust him, nobody should trust Crowley, but why the fuck did he want him dead so badly?
I actually saw a post earlier that a lot of the reason Sam could have been really short with Crowley this episode is because he still has all this emotion bottled up after the whole Gadreel thing.
He hasn’t really been able to talk about it to anyone and let it all out (after all, what friends does Sam have that he could turn to and vent? there isn’t really a helpline for what to do after your brother let an angel hitch a ride in you without your consent, and he’s refusing to be overly brotherly and talkative with Dean when he can help it, so…). All the negative emotions he has built up are probably coming out towards Crowley. Yes, Sam has been on the side where he’d rather see Crowley dead this whole season (like how he said he would have killed Crowley instead of locking him in the trunk if the positions were switched back in like ep 2), but in this last episode it was even worse. I believe that has to be the reason, Sam just needs an outlet for all his anger and hurt. Crowley just happened to be a pretty damn good punching bag.
But I am totally on point with you though, they both seem to want Crowley dead after Abaddon’s out of the picture, but how do they know the next person to rule Hell isn’t going to be another person worse than Crowley? How do they know the next ruler isn’t going to be hell-bent (pun not intended but I’m happy it happened) on releasing Lucifer out of the cage and restarting the Apocalypse? They really don’t. Chances are they’ll have to keep on taking down all these rulers of Hell over and over again. I mean, the easiest way to fix this whole damn problem would be to shut the gates, but we saw how well that worked out the last time…
Yeah, I just totally vomited all over your post, sorry. But as I said, I think Sam just really wants to see Crowley dead so badly in the last episode because he’s got too many negative emotions bottled up with no real outlet for them. And then there’s also the fact that Crowley recently went right out and hurt Sam personally for killing Sarah, which I’ve seen some people take into account but I don’t think that’s the major factor here.
I actually hadn’t even thought of the whole fact that it might be because of Gadreel. I think because it’s not clearly linked and I thought he was taking his frustrations out on Dean, that it hadn’t occurred to me. Wow. I see that now though.
And no I don’t think it was Sarah, like okay clearly Crowley has basically destroyed their lives and the people they love over the years, Crowley has done more bad than good, but like I said, Dean seemed to oversee that. I think it’s because of Sam tbh. He dealt with Sam going dark side, being not so good anymore, so I think that Dean kind of saw Crowley trying a little to not be as bad and kind of sympathized with him. But still, just like he did with Sam, he’s keeping Crowley on a tight leash.
I think that along with not being able to talk to anyone about how he feels (because Charlie is in Oz, and Kevin is a ghost and also clearly just wants Sam and Dean to stow their crap), he also hasn’t had to deal with anything like this before. I think that Sam was so used to making his own (bad) decisions, that when someone else took the wheel for him and made a bad decision, he doesn’t know how to deal with it. Dean was always the one who made the right decisions in Sam’s eyes, I don’t think he ever thought that Dean could fuck up.
And now somehow Sam is the one that has to forgive and forget, which was never really what Sam had to do in the past. The past was all Sam fucked up and Dean forgave, so it’s a new set of cards and i don’t think Sam is emotionally prepared for it at all. He’s never had to do it before.
So I sympathize with that, because he just doesn’t know how to forgive. But it’s also bull-crap, Sam’s done multiple horrible things in the past that Dean was upset about but quickly got over it and forgave it because it was his little brother and he loved him, so why is it that when Dean betrays Sam once, Sam won’t forgive him? I understand all of what happened was horrible and Sam should have never had to feel that, but let’s remember when soulless!Sam watched Dean be turned into a vampire, letting it happen (given he was soulless, but after getting a legitimate reason as to why it happened, Dean let it go) . Let’s remember when Dean had to watch Sam go down a dark path and couldn’t stop him, that when that was over and the demon blood was gone, Dean forgave him (not weeks after it was over, when it was over).
Gadreel isn’t possessing him anymore, and Dean has been trying to be forgiven, but Sam’s not taking it. Also given that Dean isn’t in a good headspace right now, but also think about the fact that they don’t have anyone else. They don’t have faith, they can’t just get through it by trusting in god or a religion like people do when they experience a really low point in life, and they can’t really exit this whole co-dependency thing like everyone think would work because they just can’t live normal lives, at least not at this point in time. Maybe when the world settles down and their’s no threat of Abaddon and an army of hell, but not right now. They are truly alone in this, so of course they’re gonna turn to anyone they can (as we see it’s easy for Dean to turn to Crowley when Sam and assumingly Cas are no where to be found).
The only person that seems to not be alone right now is Cas, which is just a crazy shocker tbh. After all Cas has been through, he seems to be the only one with his head on straight, adjusting to his circumstances. And if Cas was with the boys, he’d probably be the mediator, and really who ever wants to be that. Especially in that case. Cas basically sacrificed everything for Dean and is willing to stick by his side through the worst of it, but Sam needs someone also and I think Cas can sympathize with Sam. But neither brother likes to be told their wrong on the matter, and neither seem to be budging on how they feel. Whether Cas was with them or not, I don’t think this issue would be resolved (though i do think that at least one of the brothers would be happy to have a friend around)
